Kim originally from England, started his career between the sticks by accident thirty one years ago at the age 14. Thirty one years later Kim is still heavily involved in goalkeeping.
Kim played at a semi professional level in England mainly in the Cheshire leagues for numerous clubs and was coached by ex Everton Goalkeeper Gary Jakeman who Kim’s states helped him a lot to improve his goalkeeper qualities.
Kim has been fortunate over the years to play in goal with many ex professional players over the years, such as Liverpool F.C. Old boys, within the charity circles that he was involved in.
In 2005 Kim emigrated to New Zealand and the Waikato region, where he decided he was able to don the gloves once again at the age of 41 with Te Awamutu AFC. This little stint ended 2 years ago when he realized he was slowing a little, but with the need to be still involved, he took up the GK coaching side of the game and became the GK coach for the club.
Kim has been involved with the National League side Waikato FC and has worked with New Zealand U17’s Goalkeepers. He is also the GK coach to the WaiBop Federation youth goalkeepers. Kim has also been involved with the Waikato National women’s youth league GK’s. He is also the GK coach to the Northern 1st Division side Ngaruawahia AFC
Kim now wants to take his passion as a goalkeeper coach and using his many years of knowledge and experience to new heights. He sees Just4Keepers as a way to help him, and help achieve the dreams of young goalkeepers here in New Zealand, to make that step into the professional game through the many contacts J4k boasts.
Kim states, “I am really excited for the opportunities that myself and Just4keepers will develop for the New Zealand keepers!”
Kim holds OFC Level 2 GK and is also classed a FIFA GK instructor having attended a FIFA GK workshop with NZ Football
